Karolina Lanckoronska

Countess Karolina Lanckoronska was born in Vienna in 1898. Active in the Polish Resistance during the Second World War, she spent most of the war after 1942 as a prisoner of the Germans. After her release in 1945, she founded The Lanckoronska Foundation to further the study of Polish history. She died in Rome in 2002, aged 104.
