Jonathan Sacks

The philosopher and theologian, Jonathan Sacks, Chief Rabbi of the United Hebrew Congregations of the Commonwealth, is well known outside the Jewish community as a writer and broadcaster. He delivered the 1990 Reith Lectures on the BBC ('The Persistence of Faith') and is currently visiting professor at Kings' College London and the Hebrew University Jerusalem. In addition to his many academic distinctions, he holds honorary doctorates from the universities of Cambridge, Haifa, Middlesex, Liverpool, St Andrews and Yeshiva University in New York, and is an honorary Fellow of Gonville and Caius College Cambridge and Kings' College London. In 1995, he was awarded the Jerusalem Prize. The Politics of Hope has been cited by leaders across the political spectrum.
