How To Podcast Vintage Style

Bookmark and Share

We have just launched our third Vintage Podcast - a monthly arts show with host Alex Clark, featuring our authors reading and talking about books. If you missed the first two episodes then it’s not too late! All our previous podcasts remain on our website for you to listen to. We have interviews with Salman Rushdie, Tom McCarthy, David Grossman and Howard Marks; readings from Tim Parks and Steven Amsterdam; conversations between historians Bettany Hughes and Annelise Freisenbruch, Jane Davis and Angela Mcmillan of The Reader Organisation sharing the joys and benefits of reading aloud; and journalist Ed Vulliamy discussing the Mexican drug wars.

If you’ve already devoured the September and October podcasts, then we hope you’ll be sampling our November podcast soon. Alex Clark talks to former Chief of Staff to Tony Blair, Jonathan Powell, about politics, power and the inside story of New Labour, celebrated biographer Michael Holroyd discusses his new work  A Book of Secrets, Antony Gormley looks back at the One and Other Fourth Plinth art project and book, writers Jeremy Lewis and Tim Butcher share their perspectives on Graham Greene, and we have a treat from Shena Mackay – she reads the brilliant story ‘Radio Gannet’ from her collection The Atmospheric Railway.

And now the November Podcast is out there making its way in the world, we are already launching into action with plans for our special festive December edition. We are lucky and thrilled to have the domestic goddess Nigella Lawson sharing her Christmas tips for the kitchen, the wonderful Richard Briers will give a special reading from a classic Christmas favourite, the author of the ingenious The Hungover Cookbook is on hand to help ease those post-Christmas party heads, and a selection of our authors will be popping into our podcast studio to share their top book gifts for Christmas. We hope you’ll join us for some festive fun, and there will be a chance for one lucky listener to win a copy of Nigella’s new book Kitchen. Listen to the December podcast to find out how to enter.

As well as listening to the podcast on our website, you can also subscribe via iTunes to make sure you automatically receive each new programme. We’d love to know how you prefer to listen to our podcast.
