Since arriving here in Delhi I've told you a little bit about Delhi life but I haven't told you about publishing life so here are some pictures to give you an insider's view on the Random House office in Delhi.
First of all the RH office is in Noida, just outside Delhi, so lots of us get a mini bus to the office each day and back to Delhi again. The journey can take quite a long time, especially if the traffic is bad (which quite often it is!). The office is a really modern building, you can just about see our floor in this photo, seven floors up (we all try to climb the stairs each morning to keep fit).

Otherwise Random House has been publishing books for five years here and though they distribute lots of UK books, they also publish brilliant bestsellers too, like Suhel Seth's Get To The Top (Ritesh, Head of Sales is modelling the wonderful Get To The Top poster that you will see in every major bookshop here)
The publicity department also arranges fabulous book launches, events, press and digital work for their India specific authors too. Shabnam, who works in the publicity department and can be seen smiling nicely below, LOVES digital work and is a big fan of the famous restaurant Oh Calcutta! in Delhi because it reminds her of home (do go if you come here, the food is sensational).
And this is a photo of Gaurav, the MD, who sits in the lovely big office in the corner of our floor ... (he likes the odd banana split and has a penchant for Vogue)
Nandan, Head of Marketing and Sales, sits in an equally nice office...
(he really liked the strawberry upside down cake I brought in)
Finally this is Milee's bright office, she's Editorial Director of Ebury and Trisha beside her is the Editor at Ebury. They publish fabulous commercial titles, including An Average Indian Male by Cyrus Broacha, which is hilarious. Milee is proudly posing with a copy!
There are so many other people who I didn't get a chance to nab for photos, but I have included our very own Meru Gokhale (Editorial Director of Vintage, photo taken in Kerala)
... and I didn't have time to take photos of everyone but this group shot was taken at our 'pot luck' lunch last Friday when Ritesh (Head of Sales) proudly presented his mutton curry which I have to say was sensational...
This should give you a flavour of office life, which revolves round amazing books (for more Twitter fun visit @RHIndia), and food (which is part of the reason I came- to try everything I could in Delhi) and also insight into the publicity side of things here...
But most of all it was, for me, all about our books too, see if you can spot the Vintage books (and Classics!) in the shops.

Blogging will resume once I'm back in the UK. Happy Christmas to all from a warm, temperate Delhi.
